Skagway,
Alaska |
| In 1898 over 20,000 prospectors came through
town in search of the Chilkoot and White Pass trails, entry to Canada's Yukon Gold Rush.
The Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, in the center of town, has preserved the
era with wooden boardwalks, historical buildings and false-fronted storefronts. Take a
ride on the White Pass & Yukon Railroad, visit the Trail of '98 Museum or hike the
"grand daddy" trail of them all...The Chilkoot Trail. Feel that feeling of a
time gone by, a time of dreams of fortunes, broken spirits, painted ladies, gamblers and
thieves. Skagway....history preserved. |

Mile Zero was constructed as a Bed & Breakfast. Features typical of finer motels
include private entrances, baths, telephones, handicap access. Yet with five guest rooms,
it is small enough to be congenial. |
